It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Tis the season for celebration, time with family and friends, and many exciting events throughout November to help our community celebrate. Thomasville has a jam-packed schedule of fun for all to enjoy in remembrance of Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Be sure to mark your calendar so you won’t miss any of these special happenings!
Veteran’s Day Observance
Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center has scheduled their annual Veteran’s Day celebration for Friday, November 9th. You won’t want to miss this amazing ceremony in the hospital lobby. This special observance for those that served so selflessly starts at 11:00 AM. All US Veterans are invited to enjoy a complimentary lunch following the ceremony.
Thanksgiving Fun for All!
Left Lane Productions is hosting a DIY Thanksgiving Centerpiece event on Friday, November 16th from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Feel free to bring your own beverages, wine, and snacks for an exciting, fun night designing either a small basket arrangement or vase arrangement. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Thomasville has so much going on in November as the community prepares for Christmas! Jot down all the dates below so you won’t miss any of these events around town.
1. Light Up the Holidays
Join us on Main Street from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Saturday, November 17th for Thomasville’s Community Christmas Tree Lighting. Our City Beautification Committee is sponsoring this family-focused evening that will include the following:
· Visit with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus
· Polar Express will be shown at Pace Park
· Food truck on-site!
· Music by Mitch Snow and Brown Middle School
· Train Rides
· Live Nativity and more!
2. Thomasville Christmas Parade
Thomasville Tourism will sponsor the annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, November 24th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Invite a friend, enjoy the downtown shops, and have an enjoyable afternoon in Thomasville at this highly anticipated yearly event.
3. Festival of Trees Lighting
On November 26th and 27th at 6:30 pm, Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center will kick off the holiday season by lighting over 40 Christmas trees in their lobby. Come to join in on the fun and enjoy hot cider, cookies, carolers, and view the unique, beautiful trees that will be sponsored by local organizations. The trees will be on display through December so don’t miss this festive community tradition!
4. Thomasville’s Live Nativity
Faith Community Chapel is hosting a live nativity and weather will not affect the event! They are prepared and welcome you to come from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm and drive through and experience the Journey to Bethlehem a Drive-through Nativity. The dates are November 28th-December 2nd.
5. Journey to Bethlehem
Memorial United Methodist Church will host a drive-through Nativity on the 2nd weekend of December. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they will present this live event from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. They want you to be immersed into first-century Bethlehem by enjoying the sites, smells and sounds that you would have encountered during that special time of Christ’s birth.
